We are absolutely making the most of the glorious (if a bit chilly) sunshine at the minute. Yesterday a few of our staff and residents went to the Hare and Hounds Pub to enjoy a delicious lunch and take in the stunning views.
We were delighted to welcome Sarah Turner from the Health Protection Team to Fernlea yesterday to present us with an award for achieving 60% staff flu vaccinations in 2024 in line with the Flu Pledge.
Since Fernbees’ establishment in 2022, we have encouraged a nurturing environment where children and residents, fondly known as ‘GrandBees’, grow and learn together. Last week it was Shrove Tuesday and, at Fernlea, we thought the best way to celebrate (besides eating lots of pancakes of course) was to have a pancake tossing competition! Residents, staff, and children joined in for the event and we had a blast trying to get our pancakes as high as we could!
Our team are always looking for an excuse to dress up at Fernlea and Fernbees and is there really any better opportunity than World Book Day? From The Hungry Caterpillar to Miss Trunchbull we had a range of characters come to visit! We even found Wally!
