Here at Fernlea Care Home in Stockport, we’re eagerly preparing for a Christmas brimming with joy, connection, and festive cheer. Our team has curated a magical lineup of events and activities to make this season truly unforgettable.
Nestled beside Torkington Park, we’re proud to be the flagship service of the family-run Olea Care Group, which operates three homes across Manchester. We are known for our warm, inclusive atmosphere—and when it comes to Christmas, we go all out! From twinkling lights to heartwarming music and dazzling decorations, our home becomes a winter wonderland.
✨ Led By Passionate People Our dedicated Lifestyles Team; Beverly, Julie, Wendy, and Tracey—are at the heart of these festivities. Their mission is to fill our days with meaningful moments, whether that’s through cultural events, social gatherings, or personal connections. They make sure every resident feels valued, supported, and most importantly, they feel included especially during the holidays.
We know the festive season can sometimes bring feelings of loneliness or loss, so we work hard to create a space where everyone feels seen, cherished, and free to celebrate in their own way. As Beverly, our Lifestyle Lead, says:

This December, we’re excited to host:
- A Christmas Fair with fantastic local vendors
- Our Annual Christmas Video starring residents, families, and staff
- A variety of themed activities to bring loved ones together in the holiday spirit
🌟 Connections That Go Beyond Christmas While the holidays are special, our mission to build community continues all year round. We offer programmes designed to foster friendships and help residents engage—from quiz nights and book clubs to our popular ‘Pie and a Pint’ gatherings.
One of our most heartwarming traditions is our partnership with Fernbees Nursery, located right here on site. Residents, whom we lovingly call GrandBees, spend time with the nursery children, the Little Bees, sharing laughter, stories, and unforgettable memories. Beverly often says:
“Seeing the joy on our residents’ faces when they’re with the children—it’s magic. You feel the love in every moment they spend together.”
😄 Laughter, Smiles & Lasting Memories Beverly has been part of our Fernlea family for nearly a decade. Her creativity and dedication shine through in every event, from sourcing entertainers to crafting hand-made decorations that make our celebrations sparkle.
She shared:
