We are always up for a bit of fun at Doves Nest and last week we enjoyed our Mad Hatters Tea Party! We enjoyed some delicious treats in a rather whimsical setting!

We had a very special visitor this week at Doves Nest. We were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Manchester who took the time out of her busy schedule to speak to our residents and staff after a wonderful tour around our building.

Who does not love the 1920’s!! All that glamour, all that booze and all that fun.we were told our residents wanted a Great Gatsby themed New Year’s Eve party so that’s what we did, our ladies dressed as Flapper girls and our men donned their fedora style hats. Santa came a little early to Yorklea, we had a special word with him to come and see our lovely residents before the big day as they have been really good this year. Yesterday we enjoyed a festive afternoon tea. On the menu was a selection of sandwiches, Christmas inspired cakes, coffees, teas and a glass of prosecco. It was such a lovely afternoon

We have had Tickled Pink to entertain us at Fernlea and Doves Nest with their Christmas panto Aladdin. Who knew that Bananaman knew Aladdin!!! It was so much fun and our residents had a fabulous time watching it

We had a very productive first week of December at Doves Nest! We have celebrated Stocking Day, St Nicholas’ Day and Wreath Day! We have had such a blast as we officially begin our run up to Chrostmas! Tomorrow we’re having a Christmas sing along for Christmas Jumper Day!

Wow what an afternoon. Our Christmas Fair was wonderful. Thankyou to everyone who came to support us, it is so lovely seeing so many visitors back in Fernlea.Thank you also to Santa and the Grinch for their visit. We really hope you enjoyed yourselves.
