Role Description:

Doves Nest nursing home has an exciting opportunity for an experienced care assistant.

We are looking for committed individuals with experience of effectively supporting and running a care team within a nursing home.

Must be flexible and able to work weekends

You will be expected to:

To deliver hands on care to residents in a person centered way while assist clients with personal care tasks.
lead by example
provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence to staff, residents and others
promote the application of person centered approaches and work with residents and others to find out the history, preferences, wishes, and needs of the residents you are supporting
Assist in the safe lifting, transferring, re-positioning and movement of clients.
Support and enable residents to maintain skills and personal interests and promote active participation
Ensure care is provided in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements, reflecting policies and procedures and agreed standards
Support residents to enjoy a good quality of life and encourage participate in social and recreational activities.

Promote the good reputation of the home at all times.
Carry out all duties in a safe manner showing regard to the health, safety and welfare of self, colleagues, patients and visitors to the home.

The Ideal care assistant will:

A friendly approach and the ability to put residents at ease, whatever their physical or social needs
Be fully trained in administering medications
Have completed CHAP’s or equivalent
Delivery of care in a residential/Nursing setting.
A good knowledge of basic health care and hygiene standards
Demonstrate the ability to work in a team
Demonstrate self-motivation and confidence
