Earlier this year, Olea Care Group lost a cherished member of our family. Jacqui Harper, Registered Manager at Yorklea Care Home, passed away following long-running health challenges — leaving behind a legacy that continues to shape our organisation and the lives of those who knew her.

Jacqui joined Olea Care Group in 1991 as a care assistant. Through her warmth, dedication, and unwavering commitment to person-centred care, she rose to become Registered Manager in 2004. Over more than three decades, Jacqui brought dignity, excellence, and heart to every role she held.

Even in her final days, Jacqui remained deeply connected to the organisation. She spoke with determination about her plans for Yorklea and the work she hoped to return to. Her commitment never wavered.

Jacqui mentored many of us — building confidence, shaping careers, and instilling values that continue to ripple through our homes. Her leadership was rooted in experience: she understood every role, from care to housekeeping to kitchen, and led with empathy and insight.

Jacqui will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her generous spirit, and the joy she brought into every room. Her funeral was attended by many — colleagues, families, and friends — all touched by her kindness and care.
