Funding and Financial Planning
The cost of living in a care home depends on a few key things—like the level of support needed, the type of care provided, and the quality of life the home offers. At Olea Care, we believe care should be about comfort, dignity, and purpose. That includes beautifully designed spaces, nutritious meals, and daily activities that bring joy and connection.
Yes—care costs can vary depending on where you live in the UK, and even between individual homes. Residential care typically costs less than nursing care, and home care is priced differently again. It’s always worth exploring your options to find what suits your needs best.
In the UK, funding for care is means-tested. This means your eligibility for financial support depends on your income and assets, including savings and property. For the 2025–2026 financial year, the thresholds are as follows:
These thresholds apply to care home placements and may include the value of your home, unless it’s occupied by a partner, a dependent relative over 60, or someone with a disability.
Local authorities conduct a care needs assessment followed by a financial assessment to determine eligibility. While we don’t offer financial advice, we can help guide families through these steps and connect you with trusted advisors or resources like Age UK’s factsheet on care funding.
At Olea Care, we charge a Weekly Fee that covers:
We’re proud to offer high-quality care with no hidden surprises
While our Weekly Fee covers everything needed for a comfortable life in our homes, some optional extras may be charged separately:
We’ll always be transparent about costs and help you plan ahead.
This is our standard offering, ideal for those who don’t require round-the-clock medical support. Nursing services, if needed, may be provided by the NHS district nursing team.
If you require medical care and 24-hour nursing support, an uplift in the Weekly Fee may apply. We’ll assess your needs and discuss any changes clearly and compassionately.
