In September, the Olea Care Group Business Support Team developed and delivered an in-house leadership course which aimed to bring together staff from each service to consider leadership capabilities within their role in the organisation.
The course ran over a period of 5 weeks with the team coming together once a week for a workshop.
The workshops focused on 8 different areas:
The overall aim of the sessions was to understand our own ‘emotional intelligence’, the ways in which this can affect our leadership style, and how to develop our emotional intelligence to improve our leadership capabilities. The sessions also aimed to develop an in-depth understanding of the Philosophy of Care and the participants’ role within the Olea Care Group.
The training sessions were a great success with everyone getting involved, developing their own ideas and collaborating with other to share ideas and develop a sense of being a part of a group. Feedback from the sessions was excellent, with everyone highlighting their usefulness, relevance, and enjoyability.
Based on the feedback from those who were involved in the training and managers, we aim to continue running group training to encourage collaboration and engagement between services.
“The leadership training has been incredibly beneficial to our Team Leaders. I have noticed that they are more confident in their job roles and are approaching new tasks with enthusiasm. I am amazed at their change in attitude and the increased willingness and desire to become more involved. I can tell our Team Leaders really enjoyed the training and clearly got a lot out of it.”
