Doves Nest Development – Update

After a long period of planning and negotiation, the commencement date for the redevelopment of Doves Nest has been set for the 18th June. The site will be marked and blocked off from the 2nd June and therefore, the area that is currently Windsor House will be unaccessible in order for the building contractors to secure the site and ensure minimal impact upon the existing service. The new extension will provide high-quality new facilities including 19 bedrooms, seating areas, lounge areas and dining area, and the existing ‘horse-shoe’ will be demolished to allow for a new 16-space parking...

First Aid Training

Three First Aid training sessions ran by Manchester First Aid Training took place at Fernlea. Staff from all services took part in the sessions which were thoroughly enjoyable and informative. Last week, the business support team ran a day-long training session bringing together the leadership teams from each of our services, based on understanding the new GDPR Regulations and the importance Working with Dignity and Equal Opportunities. Doves Nest Development

After 4 years of planning/appeal and negotiation, we are hopeful that the redevelopment of Doves Nest will commence in early 2018. The re-development will see Doves Nest be extended from 36 to 50 large high-quality rooms. A new extension will provide 19 new high-quality rooms with showering facilities, an impressive entrance that provides a better visible cue to the quality of the accommodation and service and leads to the new reception area, a new lounge and dining room to the lower ground floor, several smaller seating areas, one of which will have access to a raised decked area looking out over the gardens, and a new clinic room, laundry and managers office.
