Yorklea Nursing home is looking for a cook to join our team. This will be a permanent position.
Part time hours – 19 hours per week
Shift Patter 8am – 6pm
Rate of pay £10.40
Yorklea is part of a successful family owned business with three generations involved in the running and development of the business as a result we have provided care to older people and young adults for over 30 years.
Working as part of the catering team, as cook you will:
prepare and serve nutritious and appetising meals in a timely manner
present meals to a high standard and quality
liaise and communicate effectively with care staff to understand the dietary requirements of service users
Qualifications
As a cook you will have or be working towards a Level 2 qualification in cookery or have suitable experience. You will also have a current food hygiene qualification.
You will demonstrate:
a willingness to work as part of a team to provide a high quality catering service for our residents
a passion for ensuring that no one is discriminated against or excluded and an understanding of human rights and its impact on the services delivered to residents
an understanding of the importance of empathy in all areas of employment, understanding the values of others and always providing a caring service
a willingness to learn and develop skills to improve the service
a willingness to participate in inter-disciplinary team working to support individuals.
a dedication to meeting the needs of our residents and gathering first-hand information to use for improvements to the catering service
