Welcome to Yorklea

Where YOU get to choose how to live YOUR life

Yorklea has been a part of the local community for over 20 years. Located in Chorlton, a recently appointed conservation area, and close to all the local amenities, it is less than a ten minute drive from Manchester Town Centre and has good public transport facilities.

Caring for 33 adults with differing needs, Yorklea prides themselves on providing high quality care and working closely with residents, relatives and friends.

A sense of community

We encourage social interaction and work with our residents to offer a varied choice of social activities and will provide support that is flexible to enable residents to choose the range, diversity and extent of their social interaction. We have a lifestyles coordinator who works closely with our residents to ensure that their social needs, as far as reasonably practicable, are being met.

We strive to listen to all our residents and provide them with the opportunity to be an active part of our community and influence how the service is run by involving them in decision making. Working closely with relatives and friends we encourage social interaction and assist residents to be an active part in the local community so that they can exercise their right to be a citizen as independently as they are able to.

We recognise that the quality of the environment is important to enabling a sense of community and hence we continually invest in the accommodation to provide all our residents with high quality private and shared living facilities.

Person centred care

We are committed to involving our residents in their own care and treatment, with decisions made in partnership. We understand that all our residents, as far as they are able to do so, or those acting or their behalf, should fully nderstand the care, treatment and support choices available to them and can express their views and are fully involved in the decisions made about them.

Our people

We provide a culture that recognises and supports the individual, and we treat all our employees equally. We also remember the importance the team plays in our success and we strive to attract, develop and retain the best people by providing a rewarding place to work. We are proud that the majority of the care team have been with us for a long time, with some members having been with us for over 25 years.
