As a financial consultant, Helen specialised in financial and project management solutions for the purchase and development of care home businesses, providing a turnkey package for prospective providers. In 1987 she decided to acquire and develop Yorklea Nursing Home in Chorlton. Having successful supported care home providers to develop successful businesses since 1984, being personally involved in the start up and running of Yorklea, she quickly developed an affinity to those in her care and recognised their importance in society and she is still actively involved in the quality of the service within the homes and is personally involved in the recruitment of senior members of staff. She is currently acting as General Manager at Doves Nest Healthcare and is mentoring the new management team.
The consistent theme over the past 20 years is the provision of high quality care with resident choice being at the centre. She is committed to providing quality care for all service users and ensuring that the care provided and the environment meets our residents expectations, company objectives and our philosophy of care.
Gary qualified as an electrician in 1992, achieving distinctions in all subjects and being presented with two awards for academic achievement. He then went on to study Electronic and Electrical Engineering and achieved a first class honours degree in 1996. From 1996 he worked for two of the largest Information Technology outsourcing companies leading a team working on large public sector and private sector IT projects.
He joined the business in 2002 and has recently been awarded financial qualifications with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and is currently undertaking an MBA.
He is responsible for the financial viability of the business, including the preperation of management accounts, financial planning and future business development. He is also responsible for the management and development of the properties and the management and high level implementation of the quality management system.
Laura has worked within the organisation for over 20 years. Starting as a Care Assistant, through continual development she is now responsible for the management, provision and monitoring of business and administration activities outside the direct provision of care including HR, environmental, and contract management. She is currently studying for a diploma in Business Management.
Diane has worked for the company since 1994. Through the company’s development she trained and worked as a chef for 12 years. Due to a medical condition she was retrained as an office administrator and is currently working toward a certificate in accountancy. Under the supervision of our business manager, she is responsible for trade payables and co-ordinates purchasing across the group.
General Manager - Yorklea
Jacqui has worked within the organisations for over 20 years. Starting as a Care Assistant, she has been developed by the organisation and had performed a number of management responsibilities before becoming the General Manager of Yorklea in 2004. She is responsible for the management, provision and monitoring of the service provided to residents at Yorklea.
Dani is third generation of the Claffey family, only recently beginning her involvement in Olea Care Group. Dani is currently studying Business Management at Manchester Metropolitan University, working part time as a business administrator within Olea Care Group.
Doves Nest has served the local community for over 30 years. Situated in Clayton Bridge, a recently appointed conservation area, siting in just under an acre and backing onto woodland, it is less than a ten minute drive from Manchester Town Centre and has good public transport facilities. Accommodating 36 residents ranging from adults aged 18+ with physical disabilities and/or complex healthcare needs to adults with conditions related to ageing.
Located at the heart of Hazel Grove village in Stockport, nestled beside Torkington Park, an area of natural beauty, Fernlea provides first class accommodation and excellent care services offering residents an unrivalled level of care and support. Fernlea is registered for 50 residents, with 48 private rooms all with en-suite shower rooms and 2 independent living apartments with separate kitchen, living room, bedroom and shower room.
Rated as Excellent by the Care Quality Commission in 2010 and consistently achieving the Gold rating by Manchester City Council, Yorklea prides itself on providing all residents with the highest possible standard of person centred care in a friendly, homely and supportive environment. Located at the centre of Chorlton, close to all the local amenities and transport facilities, it is less than a ten minute drive from Manchester Town Centre.
